Writers Supporting Writers

Welcome to Writers Supporting Writers

Founder’s Message

Welcome to Writers Supporting Writers, a Facebook group to help and encourage new and Indie writers navigate the publishing industry.

I thought long and hard about creating this Facebook group. Writers Supporting Writers was born because I truly believe this kind of space is needed.

I started writing seriously about 10 years ago,(although I have always written scripts) and had no idea where to begin. My first big project was a fictional book called Red Lights, which, believe it or not, is still an ongoing project! Since then, I have leaned more towards poetry and eventually published a book called Float Away in a Bubble. A collection of poems written over the last 5–6 years. Those poems came straight from the heart, and I loved writing them.

What I struggled with most was this:
Where do you actually start?

The publishing world confused and overwhelmed me. I found it competitive and isolating. I often had no one to talk to unless I paid a lot of money, and I chose not to. Getting this far in my publishing journey feels like a small miracle.

That’s why I created this Facebook group for new and indie writers, a place to share what I’ve learned over the last 10 years. I believe transparency in the publishing industry, especially self-publishing, really matters. The industry hides behind mystery far too often, and this group aims to clear some of that fog.

Publishing History

I have published three books so far. That might not sound like many, but alongside a very busy job as an acting coach, the journey has taken real commitment. I’m currently writing two romantic novels,  one is finished (Letters to Rose) and I’m submitting it to agents. I’ve worked on Red Lights for 10 years, and yes… I got stuck. This group will talk honestly about getting stuck, losing confidence, and finding your way back to your story.

My hope for this group is that it will be:
✨ Transparent
✨ Supportive
✨ Encouraging
✨ Friendly
✨ Fun (because we do need to laugh)

I’ll also be running some workshops around things like:

  • How to put a book together

  • How to submit to Kindle (which is a mystery to a lot of people!)

  • What the publishing journey really looks like

It’s not an easy path — but I’ve been through it, got the t-shirt, and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned.

I’d love for us to:

  • Help each other with editing

  • Sound each other out on ideas

  • Swap books for kind, constructive criticism

  • Have friendly chats about life as well as writing

Please feel free to join in, introduce yourself, and get involved. You may have found me through my Facebook page, or even by accident on Google — either way, you’re very welcome here.

Let’s move forward together…
…and who knows, maybe we’ll make a few bestsellers along the way.

Mary the Pea green Fairy The Pea-Green Fairy is a gentle rhyming story about Mary, a fairy who feels different because she is green. Teased and unsure of herself, she looks for a sign that it’s okay to be who she is. A quiet, magical tale about self-acceptance, confidence, and learning that being different can be something to celebrate. 💚 Ages 4yrs to 9yrs To Buy on Amazon
